Sam Ewen Sam's Leukemia Journey

First post: May 7, 2021 Latest post: Mar 29, 2022
I was half through my first semester of Bible college when I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in November 2016. After 3.5 years, I finished my chemo regimen on a happy day in May 2020. However, my leukemia recurred in my right optic nerve and I was officially diagnosed with recurrent ALL in December 2020. I afterward went through 14 rounds of brain radiation in January and started an immunotherapy called Blinatumomab in the middle of January. I did three 21 day cycles and finished those in May 2021. I had no adverse side effects from the immunotherapy aside from an occasional headache--to God be the glory, not all are so fortunate.  I then underwent total body irradiation and super-chemo starting May 24th in preparation for a bone marrow/stem cell transplant, which I received on May 28th. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers and check my site for frequent updates from either myself or my dad or mom.
