Hi Family And Friends of Sam (Flash)
So glad you are visiting Sam’s site.
Sam is an Amazing kid as many of you know he is a very active kid so this is just a little bump in the road and then he will be back on his journey again in life.
This past summer he had a physical and his pediatrician noticed a curve in his back so he were referred to Iowa City. This is were it all began..... Sam saw an orthopedic doctor and was diagnosed with Scolosis. Because of hisage they wanted to do an MRI to make sure they didn’t find anything else. Meanwhile, Sam was told he needed to wear a back brace for 13 hours a day for 7-8 years.. that was very hard for a 9 1/2 year old to hear. A few weeks later we meet with a Neurosergeon to discuss his MRI results. That’s when they told us he had a condition called Chiari Malformation Type I And in his case he required surgery because there was a lot of fluid in his spinal cord that was causing his Scoliosis.  There is also more reasons as well but that is one of his main symptoms but he has a 65% chance with this surgery that his Scoliosis will just go away. So Sam has been through a lot these past 3 months but he has been very strong and a brave soul. He will be back in a Flash!!!!
