Good Afternoon!  I feel a little silly starting a caring bridge site for Sam, but with everything going on, it is easier to keep everyone who loves and cares about Sam posted in one place.  A couple of weeks ago, Sam started a new medication for his bipolar disorder.  Shortly after starting the new med, Sam started having weird side effects which included increased anxiety and the inability to sit still.  In the last couple of days, this has turned into Sam not being able to control his body movements, sleep, eat or drink.  Think the  crazy thing with the flapping arms that stands outside of cell phone stores!  We have seen several doctors at Blank and Lutheran Hospitals and today we were sent to the University of Iowa.  He has been admitted and they are working to 1) figure out exactly what is going on. 2) try to figure out a solution so he can function.    I will continue to post as I have more information.  In the meantime, we appreciate all the love and support coming from friends and family.  As you can imagine, Sam has already charmed all of the nurses and doctors!
