Sage Goad

Sage Jackson Goad was born at 3:55am on Thursday, September 10, 2020 weighing in at 3 lbs, 11 oz. Upon arrival to Kennestone Hospital Labor & Delivery, Lauren was taken back for emergency C-section in mere minutes after experiencing a placental abruption. Sage also had a knot in his umbilical cord so he wasn’t getting the nutrients and oxygen he needed. The doctors and nurses pulled him out in record time. Sage had a heartbeat at birth but it quickly stopped. He received 20 minutes of CPR to bring him back to life and was taken for immediate care with the neonatal intensive care unit.

After Lauren came to, doctors shared somber news that they weren’t sure how long we would have with Sage due to the oxygen loss or what damage he may have experienced from the trauma. Yet through it all, later that morning Greg was able to visit the NICU and hear that hear the report that he was critically stable and moving! The next 24-48 hours showed miraculous signs of progress and continue each day.

We are overwhelmed by the prayers and words of encouragement we’ve received so far and praise the Lord for every milestone that has happened.

We’ll share updates here as we continue on this journey with our miracle baby. Thank you for your continued prayers!

All our Love,
Greg & Lauren
