The test found a large mass in his spine that had fractured his vertebrae. After many scary days of waiting, we learned that he has testicular cancer that has spread to his back, lungs, pelvis, and skull. The mass in his back is very large and is the most concerning. He has been excused from work for several months to complete several rounds of intensive chemotherapy. Hopefully that is able to eradicate the cancer cells. If not, other cancer treatments and surgery will be considered. We have already received so much support in the form of donations, hot meals, offers of childcare, people coming to visit us, and multitudes of love and prayers. I (Valerie) am working part-time and taking care of Ryan when he is ill. Also: I feel that I should add that on November 30th, 2014, Ryan became a father to our little girl Hailey and added AMAZING FATHER to his long list of endearing qualities. Every day that Hailey has Ryan in her life is a blessing. He has influenced her so positively in every way imaginable in just two short years. And she looks just like him!
