Welcome to my CaringBridge website. I've created it to keep friends and family updated ...a great way to provide information without having so many repetitive phone chats.  It's like the Christmas newsletter  - impersonal but at least newsy.  Thanks for understanding.  Get started by reading the introduction to the website, My Story.

Visit often to read the latest journal entries, visit the photo gallery, and write a note in the guestbook.

In late Jan, I had a routine mammogram and was diagnosed with a small lump.   On Feb. 1, I returned for a biopsy.  They have a tool that vacuums a little piece of the lump so that it can be sent to pathology.  On Feb. 2, I learned that the lump is breast cancer.

In the sense that all cancer is serious, this is serious.  However, this is a very small lump, and was caught early, so at the moment it does not appear to be an overly serious situation.

The likely treatment will be a lumpectomy followed by radiation.  Depending on what is discovered in surgery, treatment may include chemo.  That's not known at the moment.

All this will take time, and also energy.  What i know from friends is that radiation may or may not have a big impact on a person's overall energy level and feeling of wellness. I'll provide updates as treatment progresses.
