Ruth Johnson Connection

Welcome to the Ruth Johnson Connection!
Ruth says: My daughter set up this page up for me. I'm 98 years old--and sometimes it is very hard to be so old. But I try to stay positive. My daughter tells me this page is my own personal newspaper. She thinks you'll find it interesting--I'm not so sure.
Daughter Shawn writes: Thank you for visiting Ruth's Caring Bridge website! Our Mother was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1918. She married Glen Johnson, from Pine City, MN. in 1939. They were married for over fifty years and raised five daughters. Mother now has 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren! Throughout her life, our mom has had a strong faith and devotion to her family. Ruth has enjoyed playing the piano, sewing, knitting, cooking/baking, "keeping house" and laughter. Considering her advanced age, Ruth is in wonderful health. She was in hospice care last year, but "graduated out" a few months ago. Ruth is too healthy for hospice! Mother does tire quickly, but enjoys time with visitors. She is soothed by music, fun stories, hand massages, fresh air, and just being with loved ones.
Mother's doctor says Ruth needs "connection." We're hoping this website will help Mother feel more connected with the special people in her life - near and far. We've included a few photos from Mom's life (see photo link above). You're also invited to write Ruth a note in her Caring Bridge guestbook. You may wish to share a memorable story, special song lyrics, and/or words of hope and encouragement. I'll see that she receives your messages.
