Through the years, the Russ Soderstrom family has truly been blessed by the Lord … through all seasons of life. Now, Russ has entered a new season regarding his health.

After three years of successful dialysis, for kidney failure, (and being treated for pulmonary fibrosis), he now has an additional health challenge. We have recently, received news that he has stage four prostate cancer, which has metastasized to his spine, ribs, and hip.

Therefore, Russ and the family have determined that Russ would be more comfortable and supportive in a long-term care setting. Russ is now a resident at the Beehive Care Center, located near Weaver Lake Road and 94 in Maple Grove. The Beehive is a brand new, wonderfully designed, senior resident center with only 20 single bedrooms…and Russ is receiving very good care, love, and attention.

For the near term, Russ will continue his dialysis treatment, along with treatment for the pulmonary fibrosis. Additionally, we are working with the oncologist to determine the treatment options for the prostate cancer.

The family encourages family and friends to visit and/or call Russ – his room is very large and can accommodate many guests. And, certainly we would deeply appreciate your prayers for Russ in this upcoming season.

The family will sends updates through Caring Bridge. We encourage family and friends to pray and help support Russ on his new pathway.
