Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support, words of hope/encouragement and mostly your prayers. They are very much felt and appreciated.
I was diagnosed with head and neck cancer on 9/14/17 and to say the least it was a gut punch hearing those words from the doc. I had been being treated for what was thought to be some type of ear infection or virus but it was not responding to antibiotics. One of the hardest things about something like this is having to tell those closest to you and especially with two of our kids off at school at Tarleton and Tech. My dear sweet wife and friend, Sherri, has been next to me every step of the way as she has been having to process all this for herself as well. God truly blessed me with her some 21+ years ago and while this is not the way we would have scripted life; God is definitely using this to bring us even closer together. It's like my dad always told me, "son there's times in life where you have to square up your shoulders and take things on head on. Don't duck your head, you look it in the eyes and keep moving forward." I feel like that is what God has been saying to me except he is saying He's got this and I can rely on his "squared up shoulders" and just hold on.
We will keep you updated below but please know for the countless family and friends who have been praying and in contact with us we are very, very appreciative. It is so very humbling to not only see but experience the support system that you have around you in a time of need.
So thank you and God Bless you all from the bottom of my heart!
