Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Just about 12 years ago Russ was originally diagnosed with a large AVM in his brain after he had his first seizure.

Early in the morning on Monday May 1st, this AVM ruptured and bleed into his brain.  He was transferred to RGH where he is currently in the SICU.  They were unable to repair the bleed at that time, so they are trying to allow it to heal on its own.  In order to do this, he has been placed on a ventilator, is being sedated, and has a drain in his head to relieve the pressure from the blood.  They are controlling his BP and heart rate to keep the bleeding to a minimum.

There is a team of several doctors from across the state that have jumped on his unusual case  with hopes to come up with a plan.  Currently they are still working on that, but they are expecting to do the first of possibly several surgeries in approximately 6-10 weeks.

I am completely overwhelmed by the love and support that I have received this far.  It is unbelievable how many lives Russ has truly touched.  All your kind words are greatly appreciated.  And thank you to everyone for the food and help with the girls.  As well as the go fund me page, that has absolutely blown me away the response that has come in through that.
