With hundreds of friends across North America and some even in other parts of the world and so many social media contacts, Roy and I want to keep everyone up-to-date on his health journey. Roy was diagnosed with cancer in July of 2017 and had surgery to remove a one-foot section of his large intestine followed by seven long months of chemotherapy.

Cancer was once again detected on a follow-up, this time in his liver. After a 10.5-hour surgery in April of this year, another follow-up detected spots on both his lungs. Needless to say, this news was very difficult. The cancer is no longer curable. Roy begins chemotherapy again on 12 August to see if it will slow and prevent the spreading of this disease.

Physically, Roy feels alright except for a decrease in energy. Emotionally we are coming to grips with our new reality and taking steps to make our remaining days the best days we can.

I have created this site as a central place for communicating information about our journey, to express our appreciation for love and support and to communicate some of the ways our friends and family can provide support.
