Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Although I was initially opposed to the thought of a CaringBridge page, I’ve been encouraged over and over to start a site to keep people updated on this journey.  This isn’t all about me and I don’t care for the attention, but after going through my own conflicting thoughts and still wanting to be in touch with people (as you know, I’m pretty much an open book), and being encouraged by several friends and family members to consider doing so, I am hoping this site will be helpful for a variety of reasons:  **the written updates will be more accurate vs. word of mouth, **updates could be short and more frequent, **prayer requests could be more specific; and **it would be less time-consuming to report updates online than sending personal e‑mails, text messages, or making phone calls, etc.   When I initially opened the “CaringBridge” website and read, “A CaringBridge website is a personal health journal, rallying friends and family during any type of health journey”, I went on to believe, “and to rally prayer warriors, as well.”

With a humble heart and a desire for your prayer support, I share with you that I was diagnosed with breast cancer on Thursday, October 26th, just four weeks prior to today, Thanksgiving Day.  Today, yes, I am continually thankful!  After numerous procedures and visits with two surgeons, an oncologist, a few radiologists, a cardiologist and countless other medical professionals, I am confident that God’s is in control and I am listening intently for His lesson or message to me in all of this!  I am truly feeling very calm about this diagnosis and experiencing a sense of God’s peace in every step of this journey.  Just today, I was again reminded in several ways what a blessing this journey has become.  It has given me a new view of some of the things that I may have formerly taken for granted ... most importantly, dear, dear family and friends with a genuine concern for my health and well-being, and who have offered prayers on my behalf.

Before I get started on the history behind this, I want to take a moment to thank all of you have who passed along your words of encouragement through beautiful cards, words from Scripture, and fervent prayers.  Please, please, do not let those stop.  If you don’t wish to post publicly on CaringBridge, I would very much appreciate your personal notes and private messages sent to my e-mail at:  peepshome@aol.com (mailto:peepshome@aol.com).  One of my own personal fears of CaringBridge is that this will be a mere ‘newsletter’ and that I will lose that personal connection with you.  Please know that I need and cherish your personal connection; it is the wind in my sails and the fuel that lights the fire of His Word in this journey.
