Dear Family and Friends
The last 3 months, it has been an adventure with our wonderful ladies of the Hope House whom we live with and take care of, and then the reoccurrence of breast cancer discovered in April.
We went in search of the best breast cancer doctors in the Dallas Fort Worth area, and I know through prayers were led to the Breast Cancer Center at UT Southwestern, for we were highly dissatisfied with Texas Oncology. I can say what a wonderful staff of doctors which we have now. The day we met the Medical Oncologist, we knew we were in the right place. Our medical team is composed of a Medical Oncologist, Surgical Oncologist, Radiation Oncologist, and a Plastic Surgeon. I wish there was time to give you details about each, but we know it a team assembled by wonderful God!!!
All test have been completed and are very promising. The lump is small about the size of a pea. The genetic testing was completed and returned a NEGATIVE reading. Praise God!!!It is amazing as to what God has done through this time.
Today, Roxanne and I are seeking PRAYERS from all of our family and friends. We are also assured people are already praying all over the country. Louisiana, Michigan, Arizona, North Carolina, just to name a few.
Tomorrow begins a new chapter in this fight of Breast Cancer. At 2 pm tomorrow (July 6,) Roxanne will undergo surgery at the William P Clements Hospital in Dallas. Together, along with much prayer, and discussions with our doctors, we know the only course of action is a double mastectomy and then reconstruction. We have been blessed by family and friends who have shared their experiences and have been of great encouragement. The surgery will be about 5 hours.
At this time, we do not know if Radiation or Chemo will be needed. All of the doctors have told us the same, the cancer has to be removed and biopsied, along with lymph nodes before the answer is known. As we start this new journey we do so with God on our side. Over the course of the last 2 months, we have blessed with so many promises from God’s Word. This is only one of those verses .
“Rejoice always and delight in your faith; be unceasing and persistent in prayer; in every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.”
