On Sunday, September 2, Rowland had a stroke while attending church services. Some members of the ward recognized that he was having troubles and ultimately got him to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with a stroke that has affected the left side of his body. We are so grateful for their quick action, which minimized the severity of stroke, and has led to a much better outlook for recovery. He is currently (as of Sept 9) at the University of Utah hospital where he is going through 3 - 4 weeks of intensive physical therapy. There is a lot that we don't know yet about the future, but we do know he has been progressing well, and is very appreciative of the comments, thoughts and prayers.
