From his time as co-founder of Utah Ballet and Ballet West, to his years as a Professor of Theater and Dance at the University of Utah, or his 35 years as owner and pedagogue of Butler Dance Academy, and In his more recent years he focused on public education and endangered youth. Rowland gifts to his students were immeasurable, some have careers thanks to his tutelage, some became great educators themselves, all learned the healing power of dance. Wether you're a professional on stage, a student in class or a spectator in the audience Rowland has brought you joy. He taught with an iron fist, a huge heart and a sense of humor that was incomparable.
