Rowan had heart defects that were discovered in the third trimester of Cheryl's pregnancy. She would have to have surgery within her first week of life to repair them. There were two more problems that were undetected right away, one causing significant damage to one of her heart valves. This valve is not able to be repaired or replaced at this time because it is too small. The daunting task the medical team has is to keep everything in a delicate balance until that valve becomes big enough to repair. There will be a lot of ups and downs on a day to day basis in this long journey. Please join Rowan and her family in this journey. They are not alone!
