Mom was taken by ambulance to Three Hills on Tuesday. February 28th with severe abdominal pain. She was transferred the next morning to Red Deer. We thought it was her appendix, but after they did a CT scan, they confirmed that it was not. What they found was a tumor the size of a grapefruit. She had a biopsy done on March 2. The results didn't come back until March 7. They say it is a GIST which stands for gastrointestinal stromal tumor. Surgery was scheduled for the next day.
