As many of you know, Ron suffered a Central Spinal Cord Injury on June 25th.  He slipped on our polished concrete garage floor and suffered trauma to his spinal cord.  Advanced stenosis in his cervical vertebrae meant an already narrow space left no room for swelling.  He was taken to the University of Louisville hospital and operated on a few days later.  He had a procedure called laminoplasty on 5 vertebrae to open up space for the spinal cord to relieve the pressure.  Ron's surgery went "swimmingly" as he would say and he has had virtually no pain or adverse side effects from the surgery..  He remained in ICU for 11 days and then transferred to Frazier rehab where he is participating in their renowned Neurological Rehab program.  He will remain at Frazier until about August 10th.

Because of the genuine outpouring of concern and well-wishes for Ron, the task of keeping everyone updated  has become too difficult to efficiently and effectively manage.   We are going to use this site to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.  We cannot adequately express our love and gratitude!
