Hello friends, family, and loved ones,
I am writing to you from Ron's room in the ICU at Methodist Texsan Hospital in San Antonio. As most of you know, Ron has undergone a triple bypass procedure (originally thought to be a quadruple bypass!) on Monday morning. The recovery has been slow, but progressing. The procedure went along with no incident. Lots of progress from yesterday to today, and he finally got a good night's rest after getting a little something to help him sleep. The PICC was put in last night, which helps to bring medicine directly into the heart and bloodstream. His granddaughter stayed the night last night, and as the nurses came banging in, Ron declared (at 3 am), "I feel so much better!" What a blessing it is to hear that! Today, 2 of 3 chest drainage tubes have been removed, and Ron is resting and will be finally eating solid food today. He is still in A Fib and may receive another 'shock ' procedure tomorrow to get his heart back in rhythm. They did the same procedure twice on Friday, but it did not get him out of A Fib (the irregular heartbeat).
Ron is not up to having many visitors yet, except for family as talking is difficult and his energy levels are very low. Your prayers and well-wishes are appreciated. Please check back for updates.
Wishing you all good health and love, Lise (spouse)
