On March 20, 2017, Ron Kremer was involved in a single vehicle roll-over accident along Ohio 29 at Turtle Creek Road in McCartyville, OH (Shelby County). His car went over a guardrail and landed upside down in the frigid waters of Turtle Creek. Ron was saved by Shelby County Sheriff's Deputy Lt. Tim Bender who arrived at the scene and entered the waters holding Ron's head up until the fire department arrived and extricated him from the vehicle. He was taken by ambulance to Wilson Healthcare in Sidney and then transferred to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. It is believed that Ron had a medical emergency causing him to black out behind the wheel. Ron is currently in the ICU at Miami Valley Hospital. He has suffered fractures to his T1, T2, and C6 vertebrae, had an AC separation (separation of the clavicle and scapula), and other various scrapes and bruises. He is still undergoing tests to check for other injuries. Ron is husband to Rita (Langenkamp) and father to Greg, Brenda (Rodeheffer), Susan (Bryan) and Jason. Ron is retired from full-time teaching at Wright State University (Lake Campus) where he was an Accountancy Professor, although he still teaches part-time and is a tax preparer.
