Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
What has happened so far..... Ron was at Lifetime late Tuesday afternoon 3/9/21 when he collapsed. A member saw him called Lifetime staff and they quickly got the AED and administered CPR. He was rushed to 212 Hospital in Chaska then to Abbott where he had a 10 hour life threatening surgery to rebuild his aorta from aortic dissection.
Ron is doing well all things considered but still hasn’t woken up, he’s on a ventilator and ecmo machine. He is in surgery now to close up his heart that has been open and to hopefully take out the ecmo. God is good and faithful and he has answered so many prayers so far and I trust He will continue. There are many uncertainties since he has not responded to commands but also not entirely unusual due to the trauma to his body. I will share some of the amazing God moments later as there are so many. One was it was not by chance the he had the best of best on call when this happened. His team of surgeons was led by a skilled surgeon who is 100 percent Polish, which Ron is also. When the surgeon talked to me and my friend JoEllen, who was with me during and after the surgery, he said “Iskierka- little spark” which is what Iskierka means.
The kids were all able to see Ron last night which was so good, a one time event with ICU policies.
There has been so much outpouring of love, care, prayers and support. We are truly blessed and humbled beyond words. So many have asked how to help. First, Your prayers are a blessing! I have felt them and the peace of God. I know I am running on adrenaline right now. This will a long road ahead. God is good! He is faithful and sovereign. Our small group and Grace as a whole has been studying Ephesians and Philippians - joy in the midst of suffering. May He be glorified!
