Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On December 21st, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Over the holidays, I choose to keep this information quiet so my family could cherish the time together. Thank you for understanding that decision. After Christmas, I met with my oncologist and developed a plan to kick this in the  a**!! My oncologist from the beginning was enlightened my extroverted personality and need for detail to rid my body of this nuisance.  On December 29th, I had my first day of chemo. I was anticipating feeling crappy, but only ended up with cotton mouth and feeling like I went on a binge.

On January 12th, I received my second dose of chemotherapy. I was pleased to find that symptoms remained the same.  As of now, I am GI Jane(ing) it! My daycare kids love it! On January 19th, I will complete my testing to determine the stage of breast cancer that I am facing. My current plan of care is a high dose of chemotherapy every other week on Fridays. This will continue for the next month. I also receive injection to boost my immune system. At  the end of February, I will start weekly chemotherapy and weekly injections for my immune system.

Over the course of this journey, my daughters and Kristi will keep you all posted about my progress through this page.. For the current time being, I am extremely grateful to my husband for his calm reassurance and ability to make light of the situation. My daughters have been amazing with helping out around the house and with Alex.  Alex continues to be a constant source of laughter.  My mom and Becca have received certification to help out with daycare while I receive treatment. I am truly blessed to be surrounded by such amazing people. I also want to give a huge shout out to my friends for volunteering to help with anything that is needed. It has been reassuring to see the support and kindness from the kid's teachers, friends and our community. With that support, I am confident that this will only be a small chapter in my journey.
