I was first diagnosed with myeloma on April 12, 2011. I was in Piedmont Hospital (Atlanta) recovering from knee replacement surgery. As I attempted to re-position myself in my hospital bed by using the overhead trapeze bar, my left humerus broke just below the shoulder joint. OUCH !
A bunch of tests later, diagnosis confirmed.
The knee is doing GREAT ! The arm is now healed, with the help of radiation therapy.
Stem cell replacement therapy is underway. Harvest was finished on 12 Sept. Next comes the replacement therapy on 5 October.
