Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Ron and his family's journey began in December 2018 when he was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma.  This type of sarcoma is rare in adults.  You can read more about it here:  https://www.curesarcoma.org/patient-resources/sarcoma-subtypes/

A group of us immediately went on a mission to gather information while Ron and Claire made decisions about the best place to treat this type of cancer.  Luckily it can be treated with chemotherapy as well as surgery.  They found an excellent Sarcoma Center at UC Davis in Sacramento, and an excellent team of doctors to help him through this journey.  UC Davis confirmed that it was Ewing's, but the good news is that it has not metastatsized (spread).  His team of doctor's recommend a series of chemotherapy, then surgery, then more chemotherapy.  This type of chemo requires that he be hospitalized for the infusion because of the potential dangerous side effects.

If you would like to talk to people with sarcoma, ask questions, you can go here on Facebook to either the Sarcoma Alliance https://www.facebook.com/groups/sarcomaalliance/
and/or the Adult Ewing's Sarcoma,  https://www.facebook.com/groups/219174218655551/

You will need to request to join either of the Facebook groups, but the information and insight into this cancer and it's treatment is firsthand and a good place to get information and ask questions that perhaps Ron or Claire cannot answer right now.

Your messages and prayers are certainly appreciated.  We will update the site regularly.
