Roger Ward Roger & Sandi's Journey

First post: Jul 7, 2020 Latest post: Sep 14, 2023
Our journey started back in the fall of 2019.   Roger had trouble swallowing, but never thought too much about it.  When we got home from Florida at the end of March, Roger went to our family physician.  The physician ordered an endoscopy and a colonoscopy.  The endoscopy showed that Roger had adenocarcinoma cancer at the base of his esophagus.   Indiana does not offer the proton radiation.  God opened the door to seek treatment at Mayos in Rochester, MN.

We have made several trips to Mayos to consult with doctors concerning Roger’s treatment.  We now have a plan in place.   Roger started chemo and radiation treatments on July 6th.  At this time he is feeling fine.  Roger will be receiving treatments for 5 weeks.  Once a week he will have chemo and 5 times a week he will have proton radiation.

We have rented an apartment close to the clinic.  Our address is:
722 West Center Street
Apt. 403
Rochester, MN 55902

We would love to hear from our family and friends.  We are humbled by the out pouring of cards, calls, emails, texts and especially the prayers on our behalf.
