Rogers Rhythm, Day 1

Roger was diagnosed last month with lung cancer, a squamous non-small cell carcinoma.  We are very grateful that Roger had a symptom that brought the malignancy to our attention which lead us to go to the doctor so that treatment could be started immediately.


The tumor is located in the upper and middle chamber of his right lung.   A lymph node in the center of his chest is affected.  


He is being treated locally at Texas Oncology with an outstanding team of doctors.  Treatment began today, November 6th , lasting the full day.  All has gone well.


The objective of the treatments is to shrink the tumor so that it may be removed surgically.  The treatment will consist of simultaneous chemotherapy and radiation received at different sittings.  Treatment will continue until the 1st week in January.  Further evaluation will follow this regiment.


Roger and Lisa are engaging the treatment knowing there is hard work in front of them, but that God is in control.  They covet your prayers for effective treatment and a good result.  Please pray for wisdom for the doctors, strength, patience and healing.  They both thank you for caring, and appreciate your prayers.  


We will update the blog regularly, and as new results are known.
