I will be updating this site first regarding visitation and service times for dad. The 'guess ' right now (before actually talking with Olson's Funeral Chapel (the one on 6th and 2nd) is that the visitation will be Thursday evening, a private burial on Friday morning, and the main service at First Free at around 10:30 or 11:00 a.m. This is all pending prior booking of either facility. I realize that several folks are coming from out of town, so I'll get this pinned down as soon as possible.
Life can turn on a dime. In mid February, dad drove home from FL, with the last day being from south Georgia all the way to Rockford. Workups were done, and they didn't give much specific information about what was going on with dad- other than his spinal cord was being compressed at the T-7 level by something- scar tissue is what I remember hearing. Always tell your loved ones that you love them. It might be understood, but you never know when the last time you'll get the opportunity will be. Have no regrets ! Plan your own funeral as much as you can. Get rid of stuff you don't use ! Your kids will thank you for it !
