On Feb 1...my mom had neck surgery to relieve the pressure on her spinal cord from the stenosis in her vertebrae which has caused severe Balance issues and neurological deficits. The surgeon fixed the worst area in her vertebrae ...she was going to start the next section but suspended surgery due to loss of all neural signal below the neck....soon after surgery she started to regain most function except left leg...on Thursday 4th she when to northern Colorado rehab to....on Sunday 7th she was unable to speak or talk...she was transported to McKee er where they found out that her bowls were paralyzed and infected....after extensive review with the Dr's. ..it was determined that it was uncertain if the infection would clear on its own and she may need surery that is very risky due to her medical issues....she also may not regain all function and quality of life was questionable. ...at that point my mom voiced that she did not have the strength to fight and did not want to go to a nursery home. ...she asked for all medical care to cease and she be put in hospice ....she was moved to hospice on Monday 8th....this was very unexpected and very hard on my mom as it has been for the family. ...please pray for peacefull transition to heaven and may God hold her close and comfort her....she is dearly loved by family and friends....may that love support her through this journey to heaven
