On February 9, 2017 I found out that I have colon cancer. On February 23 I found out that it's stage IV. In addition to a tumor in my colon there are some lesions in my liver. I've spent a couple of weeks getting all kinds of scans, meeting with several doctors, getting a liver biopsy, and having a chemo port installed.
Starting March 14, I'll have chemo every other week for two months. Then they will give my body a month to rest and recover from the chemo while they plan surgery. Right now the plan is to go for a cure and get it all out, so they will remove the colon tumor and lymph nodes, and the liver lesions during the same surgery. 4-6 weeks after the surgery the chemo will restart and go for another four months. This was not part of my plan for 2017.
