On February 9, 2017 I found out that I have colon cancer. On February 23 I found out that it's stage IV. In addition to a tumor in my colon there are some lesions in my liver. I spent a couple of weeks getting all kinds of scans, meeting with several doctors, getting a liver biopsy, and having a chemo port installed.
I started the 4th chemo on April 25. The fifth one is scheduled for May 9. My tentative date for surgery is June 8. Between the fifth chemo and surgery I'll have a CT scan, an MRI and a bunch of pre-surgery meetings. I'm also doing a bunch of things to take care of myself including acupuncture and regular massages. And trying my best to stay positive. I know the only way to the other side is to go through all this, so I'm also just taking it one day at a time.
