On the weekend before April 29th, after experiencing what was thought to just be acid reflex and heart burn turned into a doctor visit only to find out his symptoms were that of a “widow making” heart attack that Monday. He stayed in the hospital for a few days where he had two stints put in and did cardio rehab. He was sent home May 2nd where the life changing event would only get  spicier.

On May 9th, after more complications he was back in the hospital. That Sunday May 12th, Mother’s Day, we would receive news we didn’t expect. Rob would be diagnosed with Stage 3 Colorectal Cancer that would be treatable and curable.

His treatment plan consist of 3-4 months of chemo, followed by 5 1/2 weeks of radiation with a two month of rest period, and then a operation to remove the tumor/cancer. The plan is two months after that operation, the colonoscopy bag will be removed, and put him his colon back together.  Doctors say it will take about a year and he will be cancer free!

Rob continues to feel better each day and improves in his walking. His words are “A widow maker heart attack could not take me, cancer will not take me either.”
