Robert Valverde

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support. Our dear husband, father and grandfather, Robert Thomas Valverde, turned 81 this past Christmas.  In late November he was told he had a growth on his neck that would need to be removed. On December 10 he was diagnosed with lung cancer. The plan was he would have the growth on his neck removed on January 2, but the doctors were worried he wasn't strong enough for the surgery. It turns out that the lung cancer was extremely aggressive and by January 2, he wasn't strong enough at all for the surgery. On Monday, January 7, he did a round of chemo to attack the lung cancer. He declined each day after that. On Friday, January 11, he chose to transition to hospice. And on January 16, he passed. Thank you for visiting.
