I am sorry to tell you that Robert was in a serious car accident on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, and is  in Bethesda East Hospital here in Florida with more things broken than I can count (6 ribs, sternum, shoulder, arm in several places, hip, pelvis)  I cannot help but know how lucky we are, but still . . . . As you can imagine, he is in a lot of pain  and distress.  I’m less freaked out than I was on Tuesday  when I was calling police departments/hospitals to try to find him!  He had called and said “I’ve been in an accident” and couldn’t say more.

Now that several days have passed, we are hopeful about his prognosis, but it will be a very long haul.  We are fortunate that he has real doctors down here, both a GP and a cardiologist, so we are not in the hands of complete strangers.  I am also very glad that his son John has been with me since Thursday, sharing the highs and lows of the roller coaster of Rob's condition.

Both of Robert's sons and all of our  friends,  and my kids and my wider family, have been generous and supportive and we are grateful for all the good wishes we know you share with us.

Blessings on you for caring,

Judith Klau
