Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement and thank you for visiting.

On the evening of April 10, 2017, Lindsey was admitted to Shawnee Mission Hospital for fatigue and shortness of breath. Following a CT scan, a grapefruit size mass was found in his upper left bronchial area of his lung. At that time, he was removed from his blood thinners and the medical team worked to help thicken his blood so that a biopsy could be performed. Unfortunately later in the week we found that he had to be five days free of his aspirin pill prior to the biopsy. At this time he was able to return home and scheduled for a biopsy on Monday, April 17th.

In the meantime, he has been working hard through respiratory therapy to build strength in his lungs and wait as patiently as possible to meet with doctors on Friday, April 21st.

On April 21st, the doctors shared the news we didn't want to hear. Pathology reports showed that the large mass was Adenosquamous carcinoma - a non small cell lung cancer. There was not much else shared during the meeting with the doctor, other than to begin scheduling a PET scan, MRI, and another pulmonology test next week. At that point we will request to have these results sent to the oncologist and put together a plan to kick cancer's butt!

Lindsey is in good spirits, resting at home and keeping his pain under control. He's a strong man and is ready for the fight of his life.

We will post updates along the way as we begin to know more information. Please pray for his strength and for the strength of our family during this journey.
