Welcome to the CaringBridge site for Robert D. Clark. We will be using this site to keep friends and family apprised of Dad's health as we enter a new phase.


Since his fall last January, Dad has suffered ups and downs. After over a year of rehabilitation, therapy, frequent pneumonias and hospital stays, we recently decided to enter Dad into hospice care on strong recommendations from his medical team. We had been hopeful that therapy could at least restore his swallowing and a decent quality of life. Sadly, with traumatic brain injuries like his, there are often pneumonias that slow the progress of therapy.


The hospice care Dad has begun is an overlay to the nursing care he is currently receiving. He is on a waiting list for the Burnett hospice house in Calvert County. Currently, Dad is still at Calvert County Nursing Center Eastern Shores wing, room 108A, Prince Frederick, MD.


We will be using this time to attempt to give Dad the best quality of life we can, given his physical limitations. Cognitively, he is still doing okay so as long as we can make him laugh, we can make an impact. We will also be busy making arrangements and will keep this site updated as more information becomes available.


We would ask that folks please use this site for the most current information. Matt and I are still working while trying to make plans and spend as much time with Dad as possible. We are also trying to find the time to begin the grieving process. That being said, don't not call if you need us! 


I thank everyone who has been so kind to my dad. He has truly special, wonderful friends.
