Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most.
In early April, Robert was experiencing some abdominal pain and went to his doctor to evaluate what might be going on. After doing some initial tests, it was thought that Robert had an obstruction in his colon and surgery was scheduled a couple of weeks out. The pain and cramps in his abdomen increased dramatically and he was admitted to the hospital. Further tests were done and he was scheduled for immediate surgery. When the surgeons went in, they discovered cancerous nodes. Following a few days of recovery, Robert was released from the hospital to await the biopsy results.
The biopsy revealed that Robert has pancreatic cancer. He is waiting to meet with an oncologist to determine treatment options. This has all happened very quickly. We don't have great clarity right now, but will post updates as soon as we know more.
Thanks for your support and check back later this week or early next week.
