Emily's parents encouraged us to set up this page after I was diagnosed with cancer on December 30th 2016. The idea is that we can share information about my health and treatment, so that those who want to know can find out easily whenever is convenient, and so that we can have a way of sharing this that doesn't involve lots of phone calls, but isn't just posting on social media for the whole world to see.

In brief, I have HPV-related oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma T2, N2b, M0. Or, a throat cancer which started in my tonsil and has spread to my lymph nodes, and was likely caused by a throat infection which persisted over many years undetected. The prognosis is good (about 90%), although it seems the coming few months may be a bit rough. Initially I intend to post notes about my treatment planning and schedule so that family and friends can check here what's happening when.
