Charlie Ridgeway Ridgeway's Warriors

First post: Jul 14, 2022 Latest post: Mar 10, 2023
Charlie is a special education educator in Aiken County. He works for LBC middle school running the ISS room and driving school bus. He has been married to his wife, Heather, who is a SPED teacher at Midland Valley High School, for 23 years and they have a 23 year old son, Joeseph Ridgeway, who is a special needs paraprofessional at Kennedy middle school. As you can see, Charlie and his family are committed to special needs students and seeing them grow. Charlie especially is well loved and everyone knows him as the giant teddy bear with a firm hand and a loving heart.
Very recently this family's life has been turned upside down. While on summer vacation, Charlie started to have stomach pain and nausea. He tried over the counter meds and it did not seem to help. Eventually on June 26, 2022 he went to the ER thinking it was his appendix or gallbladdar. Little did he know it was much worse. That night they ran a CT scan and noticed a mass on his pancreas. MRIs, bloodwork, and scopes the next two weeks led to the most devestating new one could ever imagine. On July 13, 2022 Charlie was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer! As you know pancreatic cancer is a very dangerous cancer and will be a very big fight for Charlie!
As you can imagine this family is going through a whole lot right now. Charlie is to start chemo almost right away. As anyone who knows, the fight is real, hard, long, and draining physically, spiritually, emotionally and finacially. We are developing this page to be a source to keep everyone updated and also to have a place where people can go who might want to help the Ridgeway's out.

Prayers are the greatest need! Through God all things are possible!!!
