On December 28, 2017 I learned that I have Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). I was referred to the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, one of the best cancer treatment centers in the world, for treatment. On January 30th I will be admitted to the UW Medical Center in Seattle for chemotherapy. I'll be there until Monday, February 5th. The chemo cycle takes about 30 days and they tell me I'll likely need at least two cycles. Following chemo I'll need a bone marrow transplant. This represents the only hope for cure. They're currently searching the databank for an appropriate donor. My doctor estimates that the entire treatment will take 6 to 9 months. Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
