.We have  decided to create a CaringBridge website to keep family and friends updated in one place.  Dad was brought to the ER in Williston on Tues Feb 21st for severe abdominal pain he had been having for a few days.  At this point he was in septic shock.  Williston did not feel comfortable keeping him (praise the Lord) so him and my mom were flown to Fargo.  They found that his colon was ischemic (lacking oxygen) and dying.  They took him in for surgery early Wed morning where they performed an extended right hemicolectomy for ischemic colon (they removed half of his colon).  They kept his incision open for a few days and brought him back to OR on Friday morning.  At that time, they were able to successfully perform an anastomosis (reattach both healthy parts of the colon that were left) without having to do an ostomy for a colostomy bag! We appreciate your support, prayers and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
