Rick was diagnosed with Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) in 2012. After multiple years on oxygen, Rick started the process of becoming eligible for a lung transplant in the June of 2021. In October 2021 Rick and Kristy traveled to Phoenix, Arizona to finish the last rounds of tests in order to get the big "YES" we have all been waiting for.
Once on the list, we are hopeful the wait for surgery will be short. However, that will be followed by multiple months of rehab and recovery, all of which will take place in the Phoenix area. Rick and Kristy will be permanently located in Arizona for the duration.
