Rich Woodward

Welcome to Rich's CaringBridge website.  We are using it to keep West Coast friends of Rich updated.

Rich is a good friend to many as well as being a  dear and longtime friend of my family. He's one of the most kind, thoughtful and fun friends I have!

On March 15, 2021, Rich was diagnosed with stage three Plasma Cell Leukemia - Primary, a disease only 200-300 people per year in USA experience, life expectancy seven to twenty-three months. HOWEVER, Rich does not fall into in the usual category of plasma cell leukemia patients, so he has the BEST chance of beating this and we are confident he will!

There is also a second, and very important, part to this story:  Rich has chosen to use this turn of events to help others.   He wants all of you to chose 5  of your closest friends and family members and make sure that they are up-to-date with their preventative & wellness screenings.  This means your mammogram, annual blood screening, your colonoscopy, check-out that aching back, that sensitive tooth, and perhaps most importantly, your mental health and social connections that might have taken a back seat during 2020.

Rich is currently with his family in Vermont who are supporting him with his treatment and care but we hope that his friends can also provide support and words of hope and encouragement as Rich fights his way through this.

Thank you.
