In July of this year, Rich was diagnosed with stage 4 laryngeal cancer. The tumor is grade 3 and cancer was found in 2 lymph nodes, but thankfully it has not metastasized to any other organs. His current course of treatment is induction chemotherapy. Induction is a 3 week cycle of chemotherapy followed by testing to see if the tumor is responding. If the tumor responds well, Rich will continue with chemotherapy cycles along with radiation. This method has high rates of positive outcomes. We are hoping in the weeks to come that Rich responds well to the chemo and we can continue moving forward in a healing direction.  We will be using this Caringbridge site to keep family and friends updated in one place.

Rich is having a hard time with this news and has been feeling down. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Please leave him a positive message, we will make sure he gets it!
