RIchard Thomas RIchard Thomas Fans

It's stage 3 esophageal cancer he's fighting. And though it's a tough diagnosis and rigorous treatment, our strong Richard is faring well. He's undergone five weeks of radiation and chemo. He competed chemo this week and returns home after his last radiation next week to recover. He will be ringing the bell for his last radiation on Tuesday July 5.

We're expecting the next couple few weeks to be tough - the treatment accumulates. He's fatigued, weak, his esophagus is very sore and there is some nausea now. BUT, he's a champ. Still joking, laughing, flirting with the nurses and even walking the treadmill twice a day. The doc says Richard's hard work caring for himself - exercising, staying hydrated, maintaining a healthy wait and thinking positively have made all the difference for him. We are proud and hopeful.

We appreciate your prayers, concern, love, calls and cards - and all the help mowing the lawn, cooking food, etc. Please know if you don't get a call back, that we very much appreciate everyone reaching out. We are focusing on rest, recovery, family, positive thoughts and getting well. He just can't always return the calls. They are nonetheless appreciated very much. Nothing like loving concern from friends and family to keep Richard going and looking forward.

Richard and Sylvia would love to see your notes of love and encouragement in the Guestbook here. Jokes and funny stories greatly appreciated too!

Love you all -
