Welcome to the CaringBridge website for our Superman, Richard/Dick Stroud! It seems some Kryptonite (a.k.a. a Hemorrhagic Stroke/Bleeding on the Brain) came into his life, and has got him down for the moment. We wanted a place to update all of his friends and family, and a place for them to send him love and well wishes . . . or a good joke. He likes a good joke! We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. As you know, Richard/Dick has a great sense of humor, so have fun with your comments, but keep it clean! He will appreciate all of it.
To give you the quick back story: Richard/Dick was taken to the hospital on Tuesday, Sept 3rd, by his wife, Doll Stroud, complaining of some confusion, weak left side, and a pretty bad headache. He was given a scan, and it came back as a hemorrhagic stroke, or a bleeding on the brain, behind his right eye. He was transported to Indianapolis, to Community Hospital East and is in ICU. Jon Stroud (Son), joined him Wednesday from SC. It has been a slow process, yet Richard/Dick has been getting slowly better, and should be headed to Acute Rehab in Kokomo, IN soon!
We felt it best to create a place to put out updates, so all of you felt like you were up to speed at all times. If you need to ask specific questions, please call/text Jon Stroud at (843) 343-7844. If it is something everyone should know, we will post it to the site!
Thank you to EVERYONE that has reached out. You are making a difference, and he is feeling all of the love and support.
