Richard Stevens, wonderful friend and equine vet, is embarking on an adventure to repair several issues with his heart. Everyone who knows him, knows that nothing will slow him down, so he doesn't see this as an exception. He has the most positive attitude and has done his homework, so he is confident with his surgeon and the team at Cedar-Sinai Medical Center.  He will enter the hospital on Tuesday morning, October 23rd, and will most likely be in CCU for several days post-op, but already has plans to return to work in a month or less, and to attend AAEP (American Association of Equine Practitioners) Veterinary Conference the first week of December. Always a visionary, always planning the next project, Richard will be very hard to keep down for the next few weeks. Richard's wife, Cydney,  will have her hands full, but with all of our support and words of encouragement, she will get through this as well. Richard has always been there for us, and now it is our turn to provide him the support he will need for a short while. He could always use a good joke or two, as long as it doesn't hurt too much to laugh, and hopefully before we know it, he'll be out and about disseminating those jokes to the world, harvesting crops, and caring for all of the horses who have relied on him for many years.
