Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
Dad was diagnosed with Stage IV Small cell Lung Cancer in June 2016.  He went through a round of chemo in July of 2016 and did GREAT - we were so thankful that the chemo wasn't as horrible as we had heard.  Dad did great through the holidays and we went with life as normal as we could.  In February 2017 - his cancer spread and we decided since he had done so well with chemo - we should try that route.  Well - the first round was ok but by March 27 he had fully lost his use of arms and legs and he was admitted to the hospital.   The doctors at Methodist Hospitals were running so many tests to see what the problems was.  Finally, answers came that he had developed an auto-immune disease that was attacking his nervous system.  Here we are on our 3rd week and still at the hospital but dad is in good spirits.  For that we are grateful.  He is a GREAT patient.  The plan was to move him to a re-hab hospital but even that has stalled because it seems like one problem leads to another and as of yesterday, he had to be given a blood transfusion.  We will take each day as it comes, putting all our TRUST in our good Lord who will see us through this.  Thank you all for your support.

In appreciation,

The Gonzalez Family
