Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. Rich was diagnosed with AL Amyloidosis in January, which is a rare blood disease. In February he was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma stage 3 cancer. That disease is cancer in the bone marrow and blood. The Multiple Myeloma most probably caused the Amyloidosis. The hope is the Stem cell transplant will put the cancer in remission and stop the bone marrow from producing the Amyloids. We are in Seattle for this transplant, which should take up to 3 months. We appreciate your words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most.
