Welcome to Ricardo’s CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated.

On Thursday March 29th, our dad was rushed to the emergency room at Guelph General Hospital. A CT scan revealed a large mass and he was placed on steroids to decrease swelling. A week later, an MRI confirmed a large tumour (5+cm) in the right side of his brain. He had scheduled surgery on Thursday April 12th and was recovering very well. So well, in fact, that they went back in to remove more of the tumour on April 19th. Sometime between April 21-23 Ricardo had a stroke following the second surgery. The stroke affected the left side of his body and has created some difficulty with vision in his left eye. After a short bout with pneumonia in early May everything has now stabilized. His doctors decided to start a low dose chemo treatment and will be reevaluated mid July to see how things are going.  Ricardo has been coming through all of this like the absolute rock star he is.

He is so lucky to be loved and cared for by all of you.
We are so grateful for your support and words of hope.
