Rhys - In trying to treat/cure an impossibly rare condition called Crystalloid Podocycopathy, ten months of experimental chemotherapy has been a struggle with fatigue, mood disorder, memory loss and mental focus. My oncologist had hoped that the chemo would “do the trick” – stopping my body from creating too much protein and destroying the excess protein that already exists. It seems the chemo has accomplished as much as it is able to, so they have decided now is time to try something else. I begin this new year by preparing for a stem cell transplant.
