Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.  This is Missy (aunt) writing for the family:
Rhogan (turned 9 on march 4)  became ill on 3/11/17. He had diarrhea, felt weak in his legs and then had a seizure.  Was taken by ambulance to Lawrence memorial.  Unfortunately, this seizure lasted longer than 30 minutes and he stopped breathing.  Rhogan had to be intubated and was transferred to children's mercy hospital in Kansas City.  It took him 14 hours to wake up from the sedation , but then he was extubated and moved out of the PICU into a regular room.  We were told that he more than likely had viral meningitis and it was gong to take a while to heal.  He did great all day Sunday and monday, talking, eating, standing a little and we thought he was on the road to recovery.  Early Tuesday morning, he stated seizing again and had near constant seizures from 2am Tuesday until 6pm.  He finally stopped seizing at that time and is on multiple medications to control the seizures and his symptoms.  He is very slowly starting to wake up as of Wednesday morning.  We will update the site as things change.   We all love this little guy so much !!Thank you for all your prayers and support.
